Some things raise my curiosity, ringing with a certain kind of aliveness when I first hear of another's encounter.
SFU was one such thing, hearing about my Supervisor's visit there and the quality of sound in the uniquely rich geography of the Vancouver landscape, inspiring me to travel there as part of my Canadian research trip a year later.
Biodanza did something similar, quickly in passing during a Clean Change training skype call, and followed up a year or so later after hearing more about it from Rupert during our preparations for the Barmoor Retreat. The day I attended in Sheffield in May was no disappointment and so I signed up as a festival helper as a good way to attend the annual International Festival of Biodanza - just down the road from home, at Osho Leela in Dorset.
Biodanza originates with the work of Chilean anthropologist and psychologist, Rolando Toro, and is defined as "human integration system of organic renewal, of affective re-education, and of relearning of Life's original functions. Its application consists in leading vivencias through music, singing, movements and group encounter situations" ".[2][3]
