Reading around a dialogue addressing sites of language in contemporary practices and looking at the exciting list of participants, glimpses of practice, texts, people, meetings of the strands to be explored...
A few snippets from my wanderings through other people's sites; seeing things from different perspectives, moving in alternative ways. My initial response is to notice my own move from thinking about pervasive media in terms of surroundings, environment, city space, architecture, technical framework etc through focus on journey and experience and into (literally) the body, performative dimensions of time and space. Again noticing an overlap in use of language (e.g. previous posts on language from Clean training, transdisciplinary and colour grid workshops). Here the language carries across actions and media structures.
... interested in the ways that experiences of repetition suspend time and create spaces, where they can lift a suitcase a hundred times never to be able to begin the journey, where they type a love letter a hundred times and things are still left to be said, where one they are constantly denying, believing, failing and beginning again. Repetition expands time and invites the audience to linger in the moment and enter the duration of its experience, to become part of the process of discovery and explore the clefts between our longings and the reality of the everyday.
