Celebrating autumn

I'm always happiest hedgerow harvesting - and mixed berry wine is one of my favourites to harvest and to drink! The elderberries passed quickly this year. In fact all the berries were early, so my forecast would be for a long mild winter... Let's see!
Sloughs are just luscious - perfect deep purple spheres plump with the richness of summer's sun and rain. And still plenty of the later varieties of blackberry - just one hedge can ( and does) provide fruit from late July to mid October; wonderful!
Here's to good hearthy (heart, earth , harth) fruition, a little alchemy and good company to share the fruits with when they've fermented in a year or so's time.
